(Formerly titled, Google Apps for Education)

This introductory blended course examines how to use Google Apps in the 21st Century Classroom as digital tools enhancing collaboration, creativity, and improved student communication. This course will introduce educators to several free Google Tools, such as Google Drive, Maps, Sites, Blogger, Chrome Apps and extensions, and many more. This course is designed for the instructor who wants to utilize free, powerful, collaborative tools with their colleagues, students, and community. Utilizing various websites (mostly from Google), participants will learn how these Google Tools work, and how they can use them in their educational role.

In this blended course, students will meet face-to-face six times for four hours and experience a hands-on approach to Google Apps for Education. Throughout these six face-to-face modules, students will engage in hands-on learning, group sharing of ideas, and small breakout sessions that offer differentiation of learning styles.

Students will also engage in 3.5 hours of online work which includes course readings, reflective responses and collaborative sharing of ideas through Schoology, our course learning management system. Students will also spend time creating 5 mini products and a culminating portfolio during the course.
