Course Code: T&L 2900, Integrating G Suite in Learning

This "Part 2" blended course is designed for the beginner/intermediate technology user who has been introduced to the power of Google apps but desires more guided practice with a goal of higher proficiency. It promotes independence as it accelerates learners beyond the basics of G-Suite apps such as Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Sites, Slides, and Forms while enhancing creativity, collaboration, and communication through the SAMR model. Participants will delve into personalized learning experiences to gain confidence as they integrate G-Suite into the daily practices of their professional roles with colleagues, students, and school community.

Recommended Prerequisite: Completion of the PD Campus course Introduction to G-Suite for Education (formerly Introduction to Google Apps for Education) or a basic understanding of the G-Suite apps.

Learning Goals

  • Create independent learning experiences with the creation of HyperDocs
  • Redesign Slide decks to build in student interactivity
  • Investigate extensions and add-ons to enhance the G-Suite experience
  • Survey, assess, and analyze data using Forms and Spreadsheets
  • Communicate and collaborate with advanced features of  Hangouts
  • Create and publish interactive learning using Ebooks and Google Sites
  • Discuss and reflect on professional practices through book study discussions

Notes

This course includes weekly releases of course materials. It is asyncronous to complete on your own time. There will be a few scheduled online meetings based on your availability.

Through our partnership with the University of North Dakota, we offer 3 graduate-level professional development credits for all of our courses. Upon courses completion, participants will receive an official University Transcript. Courses are also available in Non-credit version where participants can receive credit hours to submit for Act 48.
